Angul dumps sanitation plans
ANGUL: Waste spilling onto the road along the canal in the town continues to be an eyesore.
The problem persists despite the fact that the municipality has been allotted five acres at Kusasinnga for dumping garbage.
It has also availed of the sanctioned ` 11 lakh in March last.
However, there has been no headway in the tender floated by the municipality for the boundary wall.

Central team arrives today to inspect Doda's water resources

JAMMU, Aug 29: With no respite from the diarrhoea epidemic in the mountainous and vast Doda district mainly caused by contaminated water, Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry is deputing its team to the district tomorrow to inspect water resources and suggest corrective measures to tackle the epidemic and prevent its recurrence in the future.

Himachal to spend Rs 909 cr on rural schemes this fiscal

Chandigarh: The Himachal Pradesh government has been able to cover 78% of its rural population under rural employment guarantee scheme.
Sources in the rural development department told FE “the rural department has earmarked Rs 909 crore during the 2010-11 fiscal to cover another 4.5 lakh families under the scheme.
