The number of dengue cases has seen a decline over a fortnight in Delhi, even as cases of several other viral infections, including chikungunya and seasonal fever, seem to maintain a rising trend. Despite a significant dip in mercury levels, the Capital continues to report a substantial number of fresh dengue cases. According to the MCD, 35 new cases of the vectorborne disease were recorded on Tuesday, taking the total number this season to 5,837. Cases of dengue generally start declining with the advent of winter.

A dengue fever awareness camp was held on Monday in the premises of New Guwahati Wagon Maintenance Depot at the initiative of the Divisional Mechanical Engineer of New Guwahati, PK Hira. LUCKNOW: The tough stand taken by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on prevention and treatment of dengue has exposed how successive governments in the state have neglected public health. A glaring example of government apathy is the malaria prevention division of the health department. The division's job is to check mosquito-borne diseases.
New Delhi: While dengue is showing a downward trend, chikungunya cases are on the rise. Though MCD maintains that so far just 33 cases have been reported in the city, residents of upmarket colonies like Jangpura, Defence Colony, Green Park and Vasant Kunj claim the disease is on the rise and MCD is not taking preventive measures.
