KOLLAM: Ombudsman for Local Self-Government Institutions M.R.Hariharan has ordered the Kollam Corporation not to fell the remaining 42 trees that had been left after large-scale felling of trees by the Corporation for the widening of the Kappalandimukku-Asramam Muneeswarankoil road here.

THRISSUR: Laloor Malineekarana Virudha Samara Samiti has threatened to launch direct action to stop the construction of the secured landfill at the municipal solid waste treatment plant at Laloor in the town, if the Corporation does not stop the construction immediately.

KOCHI: The Kochi Corporation has convened a meeting on Tuesday at 9 am at the Viswakarma Dharmodharna Samajam Hall, Anchumana, near the Anchumana temple, to hold discussion on the proposed Clean City-Green City plan.

The members of the business community operating on the sides of the bypass have been invited to attend the meeting.

KOCHI: In an effort to ensure a proper hygienic atmosphere in West Kochi, the Irrigation Department has come out with a Rs 2.5- crore project to beautify the historic and decades-old boundary canal, a historic mark dividing the erstwhile Malabar and Kochi, stretching from Thoppumpady to Fort Kochi.
