Though heavy rainfall has receded in Raibag, Chikkodi, Sankeshwar, and Hukkeri taluks in the district, flood situation has continued in Raibag taluk and other areas due to incessant rains in Maharashtra.
KOLKATA, 27, JULY: Ramakrishna Mission has sunk six tubewells in the Aila-affected areas in South 24 Parganas using the Statesman Calamity Relief Fund. Three tubewells have been sunk in Chotomollakhali, Bazarpara, two in Kumirmari and one in Amtali in South 24 Parganas under the Aila cyclone relief project taken up by the RKM.
Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR), the state-owned eco-tourism company, is expanding its operations in the state to promote eco-tourism. It plans to open five more resorts in select locations, JLR managing director N D Tiwari said.
Mumbai: In a scathing criticism of the Maharashtra government, the chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Brijeshwar Singh, has said that the state is nowhere as keen as its neighbour, Andhra Pradesh, to construct more national highways. He spoke to DNA on the sidelines of a NHAI meeting with investors in the city on Wednesday.
