UP all set to have automatic weather stations

Uttar Pradesh (UP) is all set to acquire automatic weather stations equipped with sensors thereby making weather forecasting farmer friendly. The unique facility will be put to use for the first time in India on the lines of Australia and USA.

Naidu seeks aid for flood victims

Hyderabad, March 9: The leader of Opposition, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, turned emotional in the House on Tuesday while talking about the woes of flood victims.

He slammed the government and ministers for not helping thousands of flood victims of Kurnool and Mahbubnagar districts.

Erosion posing major threat to State

Revenue Minister Dr Bhumidhar Barman today admitted in the State Assembly that erosion has become a far more dangerous problem than floods and the efforts made so far to deal with the problem failed to yield the desired results.

Erosion gives sleepless nights to villagers

BHADRAK: Several families in a hamlet in Bhadrak district are living in constant fear of their homes being wiped out soon due to massive erosion by the river Salandi.

Palatpur, situated on the Salandi banks near Akhandalmani temple, 55 km from the district headquarters, has already lost its playing and cattle grazing fields due to erosion by the river.
