Soham Renewable Energy India (SREIPL), the Bangalore-based independent power producer, is looking to raise Rs 130 crore to part-fund its eight hydel power projects. These projects, all in Karnataka, will be generating a total capacity of 85 mw and will become on stream by 2011-12.

The residents of Rudrakshibailu, Agrahara, Echalabailu, Haluru, Kadlekatte region are not supplied adequate drinking water.

Though the Government spends crores of rupees with the aim of supplying drinking water, the inefficiently in implementation of schemes has only increased the intensity of the problem.
