For Internet savvy farmers
Few Indian farmers know the actual price and stock level of their produce in the market or mandi before they come to sell.

Too many people, vested interests and the sheer spread of the markets makes it difficult for them to decide the right product mix and they lose whatever little bargaining power they may have had.

But now, various state agricultural marketing boards (apmcs) have taken the inititative to keep the farmer informed through a website. They have joined to form an Agricultural marketing information network (Agmarknet) with a project budget of Rs 10 crore.

The website links to various apmcs and mandis across the country, allowing the user to check out the delivery position and prices of various commodities and vegetables.
