Integrated disease vector control of malaria: A success story based in Assam, Northeastern India

Integrated Disease Vector Control (IDVC) project had its beginning in Kheda district of Gujarat way back in 1983. With the demonstrated success of malaria control using environmental approaches in select villages of Nadiad Taluka, the project jointly funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was expanded in mission mode to field test this strategy in different epidemiological situations.
