Report of the working group on Petroleum & Natural Gas Sector for the 12th Fiver Year Plan (2012-17)
A working group on petroleum & natural gas sector for the 12th Fiver Year Plan (2012-17) has been constituted by the Planning Commission with participants from different departments of Government of India, energy experts and concerned public & private sector oil companies. The working group report reviews the achievements of the sector during 11th plan period and suggests thrust areas for the sector during the 12th plan. Detailed strategy is drawn up to meet the projected increase in demand for petroleum products with sustainable growth. This includes policy plan for increasing domestic production of crude oil & natural gas, acquisition of assets abroad, enhancement of refinery capacity, marketing & distribution network, and required research & development.
