India Community Protocol for Accounting & Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions

ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, South Asia released this draft edition of the “India Community Protocol for Accounting & Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions” (India Community Protocol) to help Indian cities to measure and report GHG emissions using a more consistent protocol. Supported by the British High Commission, ICLEI South Asia is working on a project which seeks to build low carbon cities by developing appropriate low carbon guidelines for two Indian states. India Community Protocol (IPC) has been developed in line with Global Protocol for Community Emission (GPC) which is a year-long collaboration between ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability and C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, other core partners that participated in the development of GPC includes the World Bank Group, United Nations-HABITAT, United Nations Environment Program, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Resources Institute. for full text: http://www.iclei.org/fileadmin/user_upload/documents/South_Asia/Documents/IPC_draft_03.10.12.pdf
