A programme to address malnutrition
The Centre has finally approved the rollout of the Multi-sectoral Nutrition Programme to address the problems of maternal and child under-nutrition in the country. The programme, recommended by the Prime Minister’s National Council on India’s Nutrition Challenges in 2010, will be implemented in 200 high-burden districts in two phases at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,213.19 crore.
