Key indicators of situation of agricultural households in India (January – December 2013)

The Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural Households in NSS 70th Round (January, 2013- December, 2013) was conducted as a repeat survey of Situation Assessment Survey, 2003 (59th round). The survey also aimed at capturing the condition of agricultural households in the country in the context of policies and programmes of Government of India. The survey schedule was designed for collection of information on various aspects relating to farming and other socio-economic characteristics of agricultural households. Along with information on consumer expenditure, income and productive assets, their indebtedness, farming practices and preferences, resource availability, their awareness of technological developments and access to modern technology in the field of agriculture, information on crop loss, crop insurance and awareness about Minimum Support Price (MSP) was also collected during 70th round.
