Question raised in Lok Sabha on MGNREGS, 09/02/2017. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) is a demand driven programme. Hence no State/UT- wise allocation of fund is made. The Central funds are released to the States/UTs including Uttar Pradesh on the basis of agreed to Labour Budget and taking into consideration the performance and the pace of utilization of available funds. Details of fund released to States/UTs including Uttar Pradesh under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) during the last two years and the current year (as on 03.02.2017) is indicated at Annexure-I. The number of workers provided employment in States/UTs under the MGNREGA during the current year (as on 01.02.2017) is indicated at Annexure-II.State-wise details of the number of days of employment provided to households under MGNREGA are indicated at Annexure-III. Wage rates for workers under the MGNREGA, 2005 are notified and revised annually by the Central Government in accordance with the provisions of Section 6(1) of the Act. State/UT-wise details of the notified wage rate w.e.f. 1st April, 2016 is given at Annexure-IV.
