Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding slaughter houses running illegally in Uttar Pradesh and primarily relates to Gaziabad, Meerut and Hapur, 12/05/2015
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Krishankant Singh Hoon & Anr. Vs. Union of India & Ors dated 12/05/2015 regarding slaughter houses running illegally in Uttar Pradesh and primarily relates to Gaziabad, Meerut and Hapur.
It was decided that:
- The the State of UP, UPPCB, Nagar Palika & Corporations of all three districts of Gaziabad, Meerut and Hapur and all other public authorities concerned shall fully ensure that no illegal and unauthorized slaughter houses are permitted to operate.
- The slaughter houses which do not have consent from the UPPCB and/or environmental clearance from SEIAA wherever required and do not have any permission from the local authorities would not be permitted to operate either in the open or in the shops in any area.

M/s Rayban Foods Pvt. Ltd., Al Nafees Frozen Food, Exports Pvt. Ltd. And Al Nasir Exports Pvt. Ltd. agreed that they would help small meat shop owners as a part of their corporate social responsibility and slaughter a very limited number of animals only for sale of meat in the local areas.

The Central Ground Water Authority shall take due care and ensure that there is no illegal extraction of ground water by any of the slaughter houses that are permitted to run in accordance with law.
