Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/11/2018 regarding the entry of commercial vehicles in Delhi leading to air pollution.

The Counsel for the Government of Delhi has informed the Court that Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) will be installed in 13 Entry Points for commercial vehicles in Delhi. RFID has already been installed in Aya Nagar. Therefore, installation is required to be carried out only in 12 locations.

Apex Court expressed its displeasure that the order of the National Green Tribunal dated 07/04/2015 prohibiting registration of diesel commercial vehicles which are more than 10 years old and petrol vehicles which are more than 15 years old on the roads of NCR, Delhi has not yet been complied with.
