Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Society for Protection of Culture, Heritage, Environment, Traditions and Promotion of National Awareness Vs Union of India & Others dated 21/05/2019 regarding noise and air pollution around IGI, Delhi.

NGT directs the Airport Authority of India and the Delhi International Airport Limited to submit a report within one month on mitigating measures to reduce noise pollution which would also include the IIT report on construction of sound barriers, provision of a green belt around the boundary wall of the airport. An advisory should be issued to all the airlines landing at the IGI runway and the domestic airport to reduce noise level, also the coaches, buses and other vehicles plying at the airport should be CNG and non-CNG buses and other vehicles plying at the airport, should be converted to CNG within six months.
