Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding encroachment of Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, 13/12/2019
Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Umashankar Patwa & Others Vs Union of India & Ors. (Earlier titled as D.K. Joshi Vs. Union of India & Ors.) dated 13/12/2019 on the issue of Hindustan Institute of Technology & Management, Agra (HIT) and Anand Engineering College, Agra (AEC) falls within the Soor Sarovar Bird Sanctuary.
Report was sought from the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on the matter but without any response. The case was deferred many times but there was no response from the MoEF&CC nor any representation. In view of the above, the NGT directed the Joint Secretary to remain present in person along with the report on January 31, 2019.
