Treasure islands
The Andaman & Nicobar islands (A&N) -literally "treasured Islands" - have enticed many gold- diggers, but this time, a no-profit project is on here. Aiming to enrich the islanders' knowledge about the biodiversity of the A&N islands, an environmental handbook for teachers has been published jointly by the NGOs Kalpavriksh and Anet (Andaman and Nicobars environmental action team).
The handbook is an effort to encourage school teachers allover the islands to begin environmental activities in their respective schools so that, with learning and doing, a strong environmental ethic is built into the social system.
