  • 17/04/2019

Seizure report of Seijusa Forest Range, Arunachal Pradesh in Original Application No. 18/2019/EZ (Jorjo Tana Tara Vs Union of India & Others).

The report deals with the illegal timber operation under Seijosa forest range. An application filed before the NGT has said illegal hand sawing of timber was taking place in Seijosa range and the timber was then transported to Assam. Illegal felled trees at remote locations were detected in Papum forest and the range forest officer of Seijosa forest range said that the Seijosa range is having inter-state border with Assam and the border being porous, the early detection of illegal felling of trees was getting difficult unless "beats under this range and posting of foresters and deputy rangers takes place.
