Revised national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS), 2009

Revised National Ambient Air Quality Standards 2009 released by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. As per these norms, the residential & industrial areas will have the same standards. Includes limits for benzene, ozone, benzopyrene, arsenic, nickel and ammonia not covered in 1994.

The new NAAQS is very nice

The new NAAQS is very nice but it must be strictly followed by all of us. This is the duty of every citizen to follow all the rules and regulations made for our better future.

It is very nice to note that we are having our own standards now.I would like to complement all the concerned.But regulation should be strict.We should also include Radon also in the list in future.

Revision of NAAQS has taken

Revision of NAAQS has taken place quite well in time when cities are already introducing new cleaner modes of transport and fuel to save environment and general public from exposure to harmful pollutants. It is in particular good for the critically polluted cities like Kanpur, Agra, Lucknow, etc.

It ia a very good piece of work for masses as they are exposed to harmful gases being totally unaware about them. theses standards will help people like us who are focusing on indoor environment issues in residential areas.
