The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council yesterday approved six development projects involving Tk 3,907 crore, including the 450 megawatt Ashuganj power plant project.

The approval was given at a meeting of the Ecnec with its chairperson Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

The Ashuganj 450-MW combined cycle power plant project involving Tk 3,400 crore will meet the growing power demand in the northeast region of the country.
