Sri Lanka Railways Planning Director Wijaya Samarasinghe said that a feasibility study is now underway to introduce a metro train service in the Sri Lankan capital Colombo and its suburbs.

The train is expected to link the important places of the city and the outskirts.

The Railways plans to construct over the ground railway lines. It is also expected to be an environment friendly electric train.
