Manufacturing policy may get Cabinet approval today
New Delhi With the ministries concerned ironing out their differences, the Union Cabinet is likely to approve the National Manufacturing Policy on Tuesday. The policy, which aims at augmenting the share of manufacturing in GDP to 25% within a decade and create 100 million jobs, had earlier received approval in principle from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but was delayed due to concerns over certain labour and environmental flexibilities being given to the proposed National Manufacturing and Investment Zones.
