Cabinet gives its nod after getting environment clearance
The government today paved the way for resumption of mining operations in the state after obtaining environment impact assessment (EIA) clearance. The decision was taken by the Cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. The Cabinet gave its consent to issuance of a letter of intent to applicants for grant of mining lease or renewal of old lease, enabling them to apply for EIA clearance and completing other formalities. The letter of intent will be issued at the directorate level in cases where government has agreed in principle to granting or renewing mining lease.
