Movement in Sri Lanka engaged in campaign against the distribution of pesticides containing arsenic
The Anti-Arsenic Movement in Sri Lanka has commenced an awareness campaign through distributing leaflets to educate the public about the dangers of using pesticides containing arsenic.
The Movement has also called on authorities not to release a consignment of pesticides in the Customs Department stores that contains arsenic.
Launching the campaign, the Movement has observed many countries have banned the importation of pesticides containing arsenic and mercury since the poisonous substance could mix with the earth.
