House panel: Go for fast-track projects
BHUBANESWAR: The Assembly Standing Committee on Water Resources Department has asked the State Government to execute fasttrack irrigation projects with short gestation period to cater to the needs of farmers post-monsoon.
The committee observed that major and medium irrigation projects do not provide immediate benefits to the farmers.

Pune “Water conservation
is crucial .Therefore it should be included in schools curriculum so that importance of water conservation can be imbibed from childhood,” said Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal.

Rainwater harvesting system only on paper: Swabhimaan
Mumbai The civic body may soon take action against builders who have not installed rainwater harvesting system at their buildings and civic officers who granted them occupation certificates, municipal commissioner Swadheen Kshatriya said Thursday. The move comes after an inspection by an NGO revealed that many buildings don’t have a rainwater harvesting system.
