NHAI on road to achieve its land acquisition target

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to meet its land acquisition target for this financial year.
NHAI has acquired 17,604 hectares — about 30 per cent of its target for the year — between April and July.

Cabinet approves rehabilitation package for NHDP
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While approving the rehabilitation package for evictees created by the National Highway Development Programme, the Cabinet on Thursday asked the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to review the alignment prepared for the development of NH-17 and NH- 47.

Delays dog highway widening project
Ranchi, Aug. 31: The proposed four-laning of the Ranchi-Jamshedpur stretch of NH-33 is set for another round of delays with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) deciding to extend the deadline for submitting bids to October 5.
The bids were supposed to be opened today to decide which of the 18 construction companies that have evinced interest would win the ambitious project.

New Brahmaputra bridge Pier No 3 develops cracks: BJP

NEW DELHI, Aug 11 – Alleging a cover up operation, BJP pointed out that pier No 3 of the under construction bridge over Brahmaputra River parallel to Saraighat Bridge has developed cracks. Use of poor quality cement and design flaws were cited as some of the prime reasons for the fiasco.

Tender process for 35 NHAI toll plazas gets SC green light

Centre sanctions Rs 145.72 cr for carriageways
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned Rs 145.72 crore for the construction of carriageways along nearly 89 kilometres of road on two major national highways, mainly in the districts of Kangra and Sirmaur.
Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said he received a communication on this from Union Minister for Surface Transport Kamal Nath on Monday.

Nath-Montek standoff again, over report on NHAI’s state
Irked by reports that the Planning Commission has predicted the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will turn bankrupt, an agitated Union Transport Minister Kamal Nath on Thursday picked up his phone and complained to Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. “I talked to Ahluwalia in the morning. He said there is no such report of the Planning Commission,” Nath told reporters.
