Brahmaputra Board Act to be amended
Faced with the criticism over its functioning, the Government of India proposes to amend the existing Brahmaputra Board Act 1980. The proposed amendments include expansion of the Board by including West Bengal, Minister of State for Water Resources Vincent H Pala said in a Lok Sabha reply.

Dusty wind makes city life miserable
Strong dust-raising wind harassed the Guwahatians today signaling the advent of the westerly wind, known in this part of the globe as pachowa botah.
Regional Meteorology Centre (RMC) sources here said that during the day time today, the strong dust-raising westerly wind prevailed over the NE region, blowing at a speed of 10 km to 15 km per hour.

Pacha Micro Hydel Project yet to see light
SEPPA, Feb 11: The 3 Mega Watt Pacha Micro Hydel in Seppa, East Kameng district is a relic in true sense and cannot be compared to some other prized possession.
