  • 01/02/1999

Pakistan has confirmed the availability of 300 MW of power for export to India for the next 10 years and in this regard the two sides have decided to establish extra-high voltage inter-connection of 400-500 MW capacity between identified grid substation near Lahore and Patti in Amritsar district. Pakistan has informed India that the export could be increased to 600 MW as per the availability during certain periods of time, depending upon the technical limits of the power system in both countries. In the run, the power availability could be increased to about 1000 MW.
