The federal government has approved five new small hydel power projects in the northern areas of Pakistan to bridge the gap between electricity generation and consumption there. Talking to newsmen Chief Engineering Adviser (Power) to the Government of Pakistan, Saifullah said the projects will be installed in the districts of Gilgit, Gizer, Skardu and adjoining areas to ensure smooth supply of power to these strategically important northern extremity of the country.
