5.5% GDP growth likely despite drought

The economy is expected to grow by 5.5% its financial year despite the drought seen in several parts of the country in the last few months and fall in agricultural production. The mid-year review of the economy, tabled by the governemtn in Parliament today, states that with a net positive growth of 1% in agriculture and allied sectors, the overall GDP growth in the current year may be close to 5.5% as projected by the RBI.
