The rich countries need to provide an additional aid to the tune of $40-60 billion in order to achieve the objectives set by Millennium Development Goals (MDG) for human development, in the developing world, the World Bank has said. Accordingly, accountability, active participation of the poor, and information dissemination would be the key in realising MDG, it said in its recent report, "World Bank Development Report, 2004: Making services work for the poor people." MDG envisages reducing income poverty by half, along with achieving cent per cent primary education, women empowerment and reducing infant mortality rate amongst others, all this by 2015.
