Study : In what is claimed to be first India study on the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, through the highrisk group of jail inmates , an associate professor of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences has found about a fourth of the male inmates at the Ghaziabad district jail have had "anal sex with their males". Possibly more alarmingly 72.5 per cent of the male inmates had no knownledge about AIDS. None of the inmates were aware that the "HIV infection could remain silent for years and can be transmitted during this window period."
