Space station starts orbiting earth: After being released from the shuttle Endeavour, the international space station was orbiting the earth on its own on Monday "a bright new star" not to be visited again until May. "It's just the beginning", said Frank Culbertson, Nasa's deputy program manager for space station operations, who described the seven-storey complex as "a bright new star flying overhead".
