The report card of rural development or the annual report of the ministry of rural development for 2003-04 has been released recently. The report has taken a stock of developments in the fields of health, employment, infrastructure and sanitation, apart from other special initiatives. For infrastructure, the Swajaldhara project in the drinking water sector and 'Haryali' initiative in wetland management has been strengthened with an effort to increase the role of the panchayati raaj institutions.
