ABB today unveiled a new product before the world which will bring a quantum junmp in electrical engineering. Christened Powerformer, the worlds first high voltage generator will be able to generate electricity at high voltages in the range of 20 to 400 kilovolts (Kv) directly and the energy could be fed to high voltage networks without the need for intervening transformers.
