The Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC), in Tamil Nadu has come out with several initiatives for rural development and connectivity as part of the Vision 2020 programme. A team of the TIFAC conducted a survey among 200 farmers having less than five acres in 10 villages of the Wallajahbad panchayat union. Though only paddy crop was grown, the average yield was low and cattle were of poor quality.
