The Power Ministry on Friday drew up an action plan to step up India's installed power generation capacity to 2,4,000 MW by 2012. These projections have been worked out keeping in mind the peaking demand of 1,76,647 MW by the end of the Eleventh five year plan, Power Ministry P R Kumaramangalam said at New Delhi recently.
