Projecting a dismal picture of India's economic growth for the year 2004-05, Asian Development Bank (ADB) has pegged the growth at 5.4-7.1 per cent, lower than 8.2 per cent attained last fiscal, mainly on the assumption of a decline in farm output. ADB said agriculture is projected to witness a negative growth of 2.9 per cent due to weak monsoon in June-July and the overall growth is projected at 5.4 per cent. "Though the economy remains on the high growth path, growth is likely to be somewhat lower in the range of 5.4-7.1 per cent in 2004-05, compared to 8.2 per cent in 2003-04," ADB said in its 'Economic Bulletin'.
