Africa ministers pledge clear energy policies, clean fuels

African Energy Ministers proposed new investment standards to minimise corruption and attract foreign investment to the continent and pledged to protect the environment, in joint statements issued at a U.S.-sponsored conference in Tuscon. The statements wrapped up a two-day conference that brought together ministers from 44 African countries, several U.S. energy companies and U.S. Energy Secretary Bill Richardson.
