The total number of recorded cases of people infected with the AIDS-causing virus in the Philippines has risen to 1,071, a local newspaper quoted the health department as saying in Manila on Saturday.This includes 335 people who actually developed full-blown AIDS and 176 people who died of the incurable disease that kills by weakening the body's immune system, the Today newspaper said.
