US and Thai researchers have launched the world's first trials for a potential vaccine against a strain of the AIDS virus which is prevalent in Southeast Asia. The project, announced involves the Thailand military, hospitals, universities and research institutes and the United States based Chiron Biocine firm which developed the potential vaccine.
