The recent devastating earthquake has not damaged any dam, including Tarbela and Mangla. Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) (Pakistan) Chairman Tariq Hamid stated this, while addressing a press conference at the Wapda House. He said that some apprehensions have been expressed in the media regarding the affects of the recent earthquake on Tarbela and Mangla dams. "Wapda would like to assure the nation that both the dams have been checked as per the standard earthquake inspection procedures and both have been found in safe condition," he added.
