Thousands of people gathered in washington on Saturday for "The March," an event to raise awareness and funds against cancer that organisers hope will mark the beginning of the end for the disease.The national event, organised by the some 600 organisations began late on Friday with a vigil honouring the 560,000 people who die from cancer each year.
