The annual budget of Rs 80.50 crore, inclusive of water and sewerage charges, was passed amidst a walkout by opposition councillors in the session of the Municipal Corporation. The SAD-BJP combine staged with walkout protesting the meagre allotment for development projects. Earlier, Mr Shwet Mallik asked the House presided over by Mr Jasbir Singh Bir Commissioner, and Mr Sunil Mayor, about the soft approach of the corporation in getting the pending Rs 22 crore from the Punjab state government, which would go a long way in improving the financial Health of the corporation.
