Asia's first modern automatic and environment friendly circulating fluidised bed combustion technology (CFBC), the boiler plant was commenced on December 25 at GIPCL's Surat Lignite Power Plant (SLPP) at Mangrol. Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd managing director J N Singh said that this is the second lignite-based power plant in the country and first to adopt modern technology for power generation in Asia.
