Assam minister assures people of bridge at Wagun Ghat

BORDUMSA: Assam Power Minister Pradyut Bordoloi announced to take up the construction of a concrete bailey bridge over Buri Dehing River at Wagun Ghat, the busiest commercial ferrying spot in Changlang district that connects Assam with Arunachal. He said he would take the matter up with the DoNER Ministry after discussing with local MLA of the area, C C Singpho, at the earliest.
The announcement came in when local Singpho leaders called on him here at Bordumsa. Bordoloi, the local representative of neighboring Margherita constituency of Assam, was on a visit to Madhavpur area and had come in for break at the Bordumsa Circuit House that borders Madhavpur on June 11.
Apparently the minister had come to Bordumsa to have lunch at the Circuit House when local Singpho leaders came calling to accord him a traditional welcome.
Bordoloi, who has close proximity with the Singphos, discussed several issues with the local leaders. On their part, the Singpho leaders apprised the minister of steps taken by the Singpho Development Society (SDS) to curb the menace of drug trafficking in the Bordumsa area. They said that unabated sale of drugs in Madhavpur in Assam has been pouring cold water to their efforts to eradicate the menace from the area. They sought the minister
