An ambitious project of the Department of Atomic Energy costing over Rs 16,000 crore to generate about 8000 megawatts of nuclear power by 2000, has completely gone haywire. The CAG report, tabled in Parliament on Friday, blames faulty planning and resource crunch of the DAE for the money being squandered.
