Banjari has been in existence for about 25 years now but it is yet to get the status of a village in Chhattisgarh. Winds of decentralisation, as ensured under the Panchayati Raj system, are yet to touch this corner of the country, though neighbouring Lohardih has seen a transformation for better because it is a Panchayat village. Facilities have been pouring in at Lohardih over the years particularly because the sarpanchs of the Lohardih village panchayat have been from here and their efforts have been to bring the best of their people.
