Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal might be accused of strengthening his vote-bank when he announced at Patran in Patiala district on Tuesday that there was no proposal to set up a nuclear power plant at Droli, but his about-turn on th issue comes as relief to the punjabis in general and the agitating villages of the area in particular. It is extremely risky to have a nuclear power plant in a populated and fertile area (Editorial).
